I’m Sarah-Jayne, an accredited and qualified therapist, I am excited to join Durham Therapy Centre and provide compassionate and non-judgmental support to individuals in need. My passion for helping others drives me to stay up to date with the latest research and best practices as well as offering a fresh and inclusive approach.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in counselling from the University of Sunderland where I developed a strong foundation in contemporary approaches to mental health and illness as well as enhancing therapeutic practice.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and centred around empathy, genuineness and collaboration. I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and change, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters trust and openness, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each person.
I am able to work with clients who are struggling with, but not limited to:
- A range of anxiety issues, for example, health anxiety or social anxiety
- Depression
- Gender and Relationship Diversities (GRD)
- Difficult life events such as bereavement or relationship breakdown or work related stress
- Emotional difficulties such as low self-esteem or anger issues
- Loneliness
- Plus much more
I believe that understanding the complexities of these experiences can be a powerful catalyst for growth and healing and that therapy should be a collaborative process, I like to create a safe non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, validated and empowered to take control of their own mental wellbeing.
I am thrilled to join the Durham Therapy Centre team and look forward to working with you on your healing journey.
