Many people struggle with mental health difficulties, finding themselves stuck in cycles of low mood or anxiety. Difficulties often stem from life experiences, societal issues and relationships – I believe in offering the most effective and efficient treatment with a warm and compassionate approach tailored to meet your needs.

I am an accredited EMDR and CBT therapist and I feel privileged to have over 20 years of experience offering therapy in the NHS and privately, helping people develop a more compassionate understanding of themselves and their difficulties and move forward with their lives. Everyone is unique and I work with each person as an individual, working with the whole person in their life context, not just a diagnosis or problem.

I aim to develop a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship where together we can make sense of your difficulties and work towards real meaningful change. This may involve working on your history, staying in the present, or often a mixture of both. Together we build on your strengths, developing resilience and learning new ways to manage and recover from emotional difficulties.

I offer CBT (including CFT and ACT approaches) and EMDR to adults experiencing difficulties including PTSD, CPTSD, OCD, depression, eating distress, perfectionism and low self-esteem. I am fully accredited with the BABCP and the EMDR UK Association.

I also offer supervision to qualified and trainee CBT therapists.

I am happy to arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss how I might be able to help. I specialise in helping adults with trauma or PTSD / c-PTSD, low self-esteem, attachment difficulties, anxiety (including worry, phobias and OCD) and depression.

Appointments

I offer appointments at Durham Therapy Centre on Wednesday afternoons. I also offer video sessions via Zoom. Cost is £75 per session.
