I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, specialising in a psychodynamic approach. I have previously worked in private practice in London-based clinics in Harley Street and Shoreditch. I completed my psychotherapeutic training at Oxford University, and am member of UKCP and UPCA.
Psychodynamic therapy is a non-judgmental space to explore how past and ongoing experiences might be playing out in your daily life. Together we will consider some of the underlying (unconscious) feelings and motivations behind the ways that you may act, react or feel. We will explore patterns that may emerge in relationships, in life – even in the room – to try to gain awareness of what is going on for you, and why. This is a space to address specific events that may have happened to you, or to try to make sense of certain behaviours, relationships or feelings that are overwhelming or confusing.
I have worked primarily with adults on a long-term basis, and have experience of working with sexual abuse, depression, co-dependency, difficult parental relationships, anorexia, ptsd, coping with transition, relationship issues, and more.
I offer face to face appointments at Durham Therapy Centre on Wednesday mornings, and online on Monday mornings.
