Hi, I’m Jonny – a BACP-accredited counsellor with extensive experience built over more than eight years in professional practice. I offer a calm, safe, and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. My approach is down-to-earth and collaborative – I believe therapy works best when we meet as equals, combining my professional expertise with your own self-knowledge and lived experience.

In the past seven years, I’ve specialised in supporting both female and male adults who have experienced sexual abuse. I was a member of a national steering group that achieved accreditation for services supporting male survivors, an experience that deepened my commitment to helping men navigate issues that can be difficult to express due to societal expectations. I’ve also worked within specialist services offering collaborative support to survivors of more recent sexual trauma.

Beyond this area of specialism, I have broad experience helping clients manage the impact of significant life events – such as bereavement, relationship difficulties, and workplace challenges. My practice has included work across employment support, cancer care, and NHS-funded primary care services, enabling me to support people through a wide range of personal and emotional challenges.

Outside the therapy room, I value self-care and strive to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle – something I believe is essential to providing a grounded, compassionate, and focused therapeutic space.

I currently offer face-to-face sessions on Friday afternoons at Durham Therapy Centre. I’m also able to offer video or telephone sessions more flexibly.
